Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Preludex ("Preludex," "we," "our," or "us") provides a music-intelligence platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit preludex.io (the "Site") or join our waitlist. By using the Site or joining the waitlist, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Email address — collected when you join the waitlist.
- Signup metadata — the signup source (e.g., our landing page) and the date/time of your submission.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, and the date/time of your visit. This is collected by our hosting and security infrastructure.
- Usage data — limited, non-identifying information about how the Site is used, to keep it secure and operational.
We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as financial details, government IDs, or precise location) through the Site, and we do not purchase data about you from third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To maintain the waitlist and notify you about the launch and other relevant updates.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site (for example, detecting and preventing abuse or fraud).
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for sending you waitlist and launch communications (you may withdraw at any time).
- Legitimate interests — for operating, securing, and improving the Site, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations:
- Email delivery — Postmark (transactional email) to send waitlist and notification emails.
- Hosting and security — Cloudflare (content delivery, DNS, and security services).
- Fonts — Google Fonts (delivery of typefaces); Google may receive technical information such as your IP address when the font file is loaded.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case your information would remain subject to this policy or a materially equivalent one).
5. Data Retention
We retain waitlist email addresses until you ask us to remove them, or until they are no longer needed for the purpose for which they were collected. We retain log and security data for a limited period as needed for security and operational purposes.
6. Your Privacy Rights
EEA / UK / Switzerland (GDPR)
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
- Delete your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so this right does not apply in practice, but you may still contact us.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 10. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 days under GDPR, and 45 days under CCPA, subject to permitted extensions).
7. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site does not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. We use only technically necessary functionality, such as loading fonts. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect Site functionality.
9. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
11. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
We honor browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) and "Global Privacy Control" (GPC) signals. Because we do not engage in tracking-based advertising, we do not treat such signals differently, but we respect them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
